Julie Walker of Brandon, MS, a devoted wife and mother, went on to be with the Lord on October 5th, 2016, at age 53.

She was born in Taylorsville on July 4, 1963 to the late Dr. and Mrs. Robert E. Jennings. She attended Taylorsville High School where she graduated in 1981. She continued her education at Louisiana State University, graduating in 1986 in Occupational Therapy. Employed for over 25 years at Mississippi Methodist Rehabilitation Center, she viewed her job as a ministry to her patients by helping them return to their jobs and valued the relationships she had with her co-workers.

Married on December 16th, 1984, she and Jeff shared 31 wonderful years together. She was a faithful pastor’s wife and member of Grace Baptist Church for 14 years, where she was devoted to teaching youth girls Sunday School. Julie had a deep love and devotion for her friends and family. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to the beach. She was a genuinely caring person and would help anyone in need. She will be remembered by her joyful laugh, loving smile, and caring personality.

As a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend, Julie will be sincerely missed. She is survived by her mother, Gayle Jennings; her sister, Cheryl Sullivan; her brother Scott Jennings; her husband, Jeff Walker; her daughter, Jordan Walker; her son and daughter-in-law Jacob and Teresa Walker; grandson, Elijah; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Robert E. Jennings.

We rejoice because she is now and forever in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 12 noon Sunday at Grace Baptist Church. Services are 2 pm Sunday at the church with burial in Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon.
