Jimmie Jean Hayes, age 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016. She was born on May 6th, 1924 in Knox City, Texas to Jim and Beulah Horton. She has a younger sister Lilly Newsom. She married Bufford Hayes on November 11th, 1944. She graduated from Witharrell High School in 1941. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Levelland, the WMU and the PTA. She taught Sunday School and GAs at First Baptist Church Witharrell and later joined First Baptist Church Lubbock. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed riding motorcycles with her friends and husband. She loved her Lord and treasured her family above everything else. Visitation will be held at George Price Funeral home Friday, September 30, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at George Price Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery.
She is preceded in death by her husband, son, James and grandson Patrick. She is survived by two daughters, Latricia Polk and Karen Waller, one son, Gary Hayes, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
