WINSLOW- Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday for Edward J. Pokropski, 73, of Sicklerville.
Mr. Pokropski died suddenly on Friday, less than a month after the death of his wife, Josephine.
He was a machinist at the Henry Diston Co. in Philadelphia for 12 years and a steelworker in Philadelphia for 33 years.
A member of the United Auto Workers union, Mr. Prokopski played semi-pro baseball for the Philadelphia Industrial League and basketball with the House of David team.
He is survived by five daughters, Mary Hughes; Helen McCollum; Glenda Watkins; Barbara Burgese; and Vicky Carto, two sons, Edward and Eugene Pokropski, his mother, Blanche Prokopski; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday at the Nulty Funeral Home, Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joachim's Church, Penn and Church streets, Philadelphia. Entombement will be at the New Saint Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr.
