She was married as the 1st wife of Eli Erskine Sawyer (1915-1995). After Pearl's death Eli married her sister Maude Florence Bagwell (1920-2012)
Living on Hogan Road in Davidson County, Pearl was 16 years old and married when she shot and killed herself at home on October 13, 1937. Burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery.
