Old Settler Dead – New Auburn Herald: John Sablowski, an aged and respected resident of this township, passed to the eternal rest Monday, Aug. 5, 1907, being 86 years of age. He was born in Germany Nov. 11, 1820, and has lived across the lake for many years, and the going out of his life takes another old and prosperous inhabitant from our midst. Of his family his wife died some 14 years ago; an only son died in youth, and his only daughter, Mrs. Joseph Plieseis passed away a short time ago. Burial service was held Wednesday and the remains were interred in the High Island Cemetery.
