Laura C. Hendricks, 86, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 888 S. Grandview Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, at the care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1920, daughter of Edward and Savena (Tigges) Heiberger.

She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy.

She married William H. Hendricks on Sept. 15, 1940, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 1994. He was co-owner of Hendricks Feed and Seed, and they spent their free time at the place she loved:The farm/cottage.

She enjoyed square dancing, fishing, horseback riding, tennis, painting and writing poetry. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially on the Fourth of July.

She was a longtime member of St. Columbkille's Catholic Church.

Surviving are five children, Susan (David) Less, Marybeth Hendricks and William (Janet) Hendricks Jr., all of Dubuque, Kristine (Richard) Lakeman, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Karen (Craig) Bagby, of Solon, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mae Lowe, of Sacramento, Calif.; and a brother, Edward (Helen) Heiberger, of Dubuque.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Heiberger, and a sister, Bertille Metcalf.
