In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jenny McCoy (Deceased); a son, Russell DeWayne McCoy (1970-1970); a sister, Opal Bernice McCoy-Brooks (1941-2013); two nieces, Lorraine Dalton (Deceased) and Christina Gail Brooks-Bailey (1970-2015); an infant brother, James Ray McCoy (Deceased); two brother-in-laws, Charles "Buddy" Delenor Brooks (1937-2005) and Vernie Good (Deceased); and a sister-in-law Alice Reta Church-McCoy (1945-2010).
Those left to cherish his memories are his two
daughters, Carolyn McCoy-Phillips and husband Dan Phillips, and Vicki McCoy-Wallen all of Pineville; three grandchildren, Tyler Phillps, Kati Wallen and Peyton Phillips; three sisters, June McCoy-Goode of Indian Creek, Ann (Lindell) McCoy-Goode of Pineville and Nancy (Ward) McCoy-Workman of Matheny; three brothers, Roy Lee McCoy (1938-2017) of Oceana, John (Wilma) McCoy and Russell (Pam) McCoy all of Keyrock; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Elder Russell McCoy officiating. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and laid to rest with his loving wife Jenny in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016.
