Our mother, Deanna Lou Barton Flint, is once again in our father's arms. This reunion which she has waited for with joy and anticipation began on October 22, 2015.

Mother began her turn on earth on September 27, 1929 with her parents, Florence Deanna Perkins and Golden John Barton. She was the only girl and fourth child among a family of four boys. Don William, Wilson Gardner, J Golden (Jake) and Walter Edward. Childhood days were filled with memories of playing in the sand box with Jake and dressing Walt up like a girl as she so wanted a sister and his hair was filled with curls. Grandma's sister, Chloe had a daughter, Cathy and the two of them became more than just cousins….they were as close as sisters.

Mother graduated from Davis High School and married her high school sweetheart, Paul Webster Flint on June 4, 1947 sealing their love eternally in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together she and Paul followed in the footsteps of her father…..who was a co-owner of Miller Floral Company in Farmington. Mother and dad were co-founders of Flint Greenhouse's (Mountain States Plants) and worked together for years building and bringing a budding company into full bloom. Family members continue to grow the plants in a company that serves not only Utah but also surrounding states.

Oh the beautiful scripture stories that we have all been taught at our mother's knees. The scriptures were so very important to her, and a place where she would always find the answers to her questions and solutions to her trials.
Our parents had a great love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and together with our father served for 18 months in the Perth Australia Mission.

We, her seven children, Danna Lee (Ron) Wright, Paulette (Dale) Humphries, Patricia (Mark) Etherington, David Barton (Judy) Flint, Bart Paul (Valery) Flint, Mary Ann (Tracy) Fifield and Jill (Alan) Jaynes, will miss our kind, wonderful little mother and strive to follow in the footsteps she leaves behind.

Genealogy work was a main focus in her life and so many extended family names were found through her never-ending effort to bring families together forever. We know there were multitudes of family members waiting to greet her and thank her for finding them on pages lost with time and making sure their work was done. This work will continue to be done by her children as her legacy of love moves on.

Mother would often tell us that she had no talents. She was just so humble she couldn't see them even while letting them shine. She was a great seamstress, a quilter, a gardener, she loved fall canning and not only filled her shelves but also all of ours with peaches, pears, tomatoes, and so much more. She was a bookkeeper, she would write beautiful poems and never take credit for them. She wrote road shows that were wonderful and enjoyed by many, and she helped each one of us develop our own talents. Without our mom, so many of our hopes and dreams would have never come true. She went back to school wanting to become a nurse. She received straight A's in her school work…..but decided that being a mother was more important to her than earning a college degree!

She follows in death her sweetheart Paul, her parents, her brothers Don, Wilson, and J Golden, along with two grandchildren, Brian Paul Etherington and Barton Paul Flint. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on through 44 grandchildren and 93 great grandchildren.

She truly loved and gave support to the missionaries within her family and within her ward. In her memory donations to ward mission funds would be greatly appreciated.

We will truly miss our mother but have been assured of her happiness in once again being in our father's arms. As we asked her what she would like most for us to remember……..She replied "Families truly are forever!"

A special thank you to Jill's daughter, Brooke for her loving service to our mother. After moving in after father's passing, she not only watched over and cared for her grandma, but also kept her young and brought her so much joy and happiness, especially in the quiet evening hours.

Also, an outpouring of love to ward members and friends who loved our mother through their service.

Family gathered at Myers Mortuary of Layton for a short family viewing prior to meeting at the Farmington Cemetery where she was placed next to our dad in a short family graveside service held on October 27, 2015.
