A celebration of the life of Melissa “Elaine” Sisney Lawson was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Friends visited the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Elaine passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the age of 64.
Melissa “Elaine” was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on December 2, 1951 to Leslie Amos "L.A." Sisney and Virginia Maxine (Miller) Sisney. Elaine graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1970 and continued her education at Northeastern State University for two years where she studied creative writing.
Elaine was the proud mother of three children, Tonya, Rikki and Zanieth “Scotty”. Elaine loved her family dearly and was a devoted and thoughtful mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In her free time Elaine enjoyed fishing, swimming, reading and creative writing. Her family said she had a gypsy soul and was a kind hearted person. Elaine also liked listening to country music.
