WARD, MONA KAY – Age 55 of Roseburg, passed away Sunday, April 12, 1998 at her home. She was born March 5, 1943 in Great Falls, Montana to Ellnore (Johnson) and Kaare P. Larsen. She grew up in Choteau, Montana where she attended school, graduating in 1961. She attended the University of Montana at Missoula graduating in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration Education. Mona Kay was united in marriage to Doyle V. Ward on August 1, 1965 in Choteau, Montana. Mrs. Ward had lived in Ft. Belvior, Virginia for two years, Idaho, Utah, Washington and to Roseburg in 1988. Through her life she loved to read and had a keen interest in the world and people around her. She loved music and the arts, participating in choral singing, theater groups, orchestras and chamber groups. Most recently and locally activities included Vintage Singers, Presbyterian Bell and Church choir and theatrical productions at Umpqua Community College. She worked recently for The Umpqua National Forest in Roseburg. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Roseburg. Mrs. Ward loved her family and home dearly, was confident in and comforted by God's love and admired peace and harmony. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Doyle; two sons; mother Ellnore Larsen; a sister Laura Anderson; a brother Leif Anderson; Aunt Ramona Plummer and Aunt Hazel Larsen; five nieces and nephews; two grandchildren; as well as a host of loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her father Kaare P. Larsen. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 17, 1998 at 11:30 a.m., at the Faith Lutheran Church in Roseburg. Pastor Wally Gustav will officiate. A subsequent memorial service will be held in her home town of Choteau, Montana at a later date. Final resting place will be in Choteau, Montana. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to Mercy Hospice, 2700 Stewart Parkway, Roseburg, Oregon 97470 or to memorial fund c/o Faith Lutheran Church, 820 W. Kenwood, Roseburg, Oregon 97470. WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES is in charge of arrangements.
