Mrs. Horton retired from the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in Cowpens. She was a graduate of Chesnee High School and a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Kathy Horton Dickson of Cowpens, SC and Melvin Clyde Horton of Cayce, SC; grandchildren, Clyde Jr., Dawn, Alyson, and Lauren; and great-granddaughter, Caroline. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Ralph Jett. Visitation will follow at the graveside.
