Carl Edwin Archer, 80, of Columbus, formerly of Xenia, and Sun City, Arizona, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born November 18, 1935, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Howard and Golda Mae (Stephenson) Archer. He retired as a printer with the Xenia Daily Gazette.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. (Pitzer) Archer, a daughter, Julie (Jeffery) Livingston, Chico, CA, two sons, Mark (Heather) Archer, Grove City, and Daniel Archer (Melanie Ladlee), Nesquehoning, PA, nine grandchildren, Brandon Woosley, Justin Archer, Taylor Archer, Jade Livingston, Levi Livingston, Jackson Archer, Jacob Archer, Jayden Ladlee, and Daniel "Junior" Archer, two sisters, Barbara Jean Ashton, St. Petersburg, FL, and Veda Ann (David A.) Thompson, Xenia, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother-in-law, Richard Ashton. Carl was an avid sports enthusiast his entire life and was always proud that he was part of the Xenia Daily Gazette team that won the 1974 Pulitzer Prize for journalism following the Xenia Tornado.
