George Thomas Poole, 79, of Semora, died Sunday, October 2, 2016. Born in Person County, Mr. Poole was the son of the late Willie and Mollie Wiley Poole.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John, James, Robert, Radford, Cecil and Charlie Poole and his sisters, Margaret Clark and Hope Thacker.
Mr. Poole retired from farming and was a member of Semora Baptist Church.
Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Betty Marie Brummett Poole; his brother, Edward Poole and wife Nannie, of Bassett, VA; his sister, Alice Cundiff, of Danville, VA; his sisters-in-law Katherine, Collie Mae, Ann and Beth Poole and a large host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 1PM Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. John P. Upton and the Rev. Ed Denton. Burial will follow in the Lebanon Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-1PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Chapel prior to the service.
