Rosemary Ariail Dixon, 86, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Morningside Assisted Living in Conyers, Ga. A longtime resident of Harlem, Ga., she was a dedicated United Methodist minister’s wife.
She was an active member of the United Methodist Church and served as president of the United Methodist Women where she was recognized for her years of service. Mrs. Dixon retired from Belk’s in Augusta, Ga. after 25 years of dedicated service, as a buyer for several departments.
Mrs. Dixon was born May 25, 1935 in Columbus, Georgia.
The youngest of six children, she was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Beulah Ariail, as well as her sisters, Pauline Frank, Ruby McKoon, Natalie Van Bush; and her brothers, Bobby Ariail and Joseph Ariail; and sister-in-law Johnnie Gibson.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 69 years, Reverend James Rudolph Dixon; her daughters, Linda Smith (Jody) Covington, Pat Daniel (Hub), Claxton, Kathy Anderson (Greg) and Dee Holmes, of Cartersville; her son, Jim Dixon (Terry), North Augusta; grandchildren, Darci Tuten (Chris), Melissa Lu (Theo), Sam Daniel (Amy), Laura Elliott Budnick (Brian), Ariail Gorman (Russell), Kate Dixon, Erin Dixon, Jake Dixon, Connor Dixon, Meredith Holmes, Matthew Holmes, Josh Holmes and Nicolas Anderson; Eight great-grandchildren and close friends, Angela White and Doug and Carla James.
Burial will follow at Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem, Ga.
