Sheila Hodges-Boyd, 48, of Casa Grande died April 27, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix.

Memorial Mass was celebrated Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch and Monsignor Richard Moyer. Mass also was celebrated by Moyer on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Yuma.

Ms. Hodges-Boyd was born Jan. 25, 1954 in Yuma to Patrick K. and Billie Jeanne (Thompson) Hodges. A homemaker, she was a lifelong Arizonan and Casa Grande resident since 1978. She loved music, especially singing, and also cooking. She loved doing volunteer work at St. Anthony Church and School. She also volunteered many hours at the soup kitchen in town and was involved in Casa Grande Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Charles E. "Chuck" Boyd; a daughter, Brenda L. Boyd of Casa Grande; a son, Christopher Boyd of Wichita Falls (Sheppard AFB), Texas; her parents, of Yuma; six sisters, Sandy Haas of Gulf Shores, Ala., Laura Conti of Ventura, Calif., Karen Hardy, Theresa Murray, Beth Snyder and Mary Splawn, all of Yuma; and two brothers, John R. Hodges and Patrick Hodges Jr. of Yuma. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Frances "Nonnie" Thompson.
