Dalmer H. Gowens, one of the community´s better-known citizens, lost a courageous battle for survival when he was claimed by death at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. He has been in failing health several months.

Mr. Gowens, 48, was owner of the Keen Kut Barber Shop.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today (Thursday) in First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, and the Rev. Randy Butler, music-youth director of the church, are to officiate.

Interment will be made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Arles Graham, Jimmy Dunn, Jackie Hamersley, Brice Allen, Don Handley, Floyd Hill, George Griffin, and Van May. Members of Crosbyton Volunteer Fire Department are to serve as honorary pallbearers.
