Susan Elaine Arbogast Cross, 66, of Albemarle, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Her funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Monty Clark and Rev. Ross Tracy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care on Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
Born March 15, 1950 in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter of Minnie Keener Arbogast and the late Donald Walter Arbogast. She was a devoted homemaker and member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved her work in the church and was especially active in the prayer shawl ministry. Mrs. Cross enjoyed crafting and she loved everyone. She was known for putting everyone else's needs above her own.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Eugene Cross of the home. Other survivors include sons Brett Kenneth Cross (Susan) and Robert Eugene Cross (Betty), daughers Brenda Sue Cross Whitley (John David) and Rebecca Elaine Sides (Arlie) all of Albemarle, brothers Danny Arbogast of Geneva, OH, Roger Arbogast of Chardon, OH, Kenneth Arbogast of Modesto, CA, and Fred Arbogast of French Creek, WV, and sister Donna Arbogast of Geneva, OH, as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
