YORK Merle R. Noble, Sr., 73, died at 12:45 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2008, at Rest Haven. He was the former husband of the late Betty J. (Zartman) Noble. Born June 18, 1934, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Robert and Florence Noble.
Surviving are five sons, Jeff Rinker of Carlisle, Merle Noble, Jr. of New Oxford, Randy Noble of Hanover, Raymond Noble of Littlestown, and Michael Noble of Lewisberry; seven daughters, Joann Noble of York, Beverly Bollinger of Gettysburg, Doris Noble of Hanover, Mary Kelly and Bobbi Noble, both of Littlestown, Peggy Aldridge of New Oxford, and Betty-Jo Leppo of East Berlin; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three daughters, Tammy and Lori Noble and Polly Rinker; two brothers, Richard and Burnell Noble; and one sister, Manetta Valentine.
Burial will be private in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
