Dora was 22 years old at her death, and succumbed to TB, like most of her brothers and sisters, and her father.

Death of Miss Dora John Moore

All that was mortal of Miss Dora John Moore, who departed this life at her home in Gonzales, Friday, June 19, was tenderly laid to rest in the Guadalupe cemetery, seven miles east of Gonzales, Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

A long procession of sorrowing friends and relatives followed the remains of the lamented young lady to their final abiding place.

Appropriate funeral services were conducted beside the open grave by Rev. Mr. Nash, a Baptist missionary of the district. Rev. Mr. Nash made a touching and impressive talk on the beautiful life of this noble Christian girl, called away just after entering upon the bloom of glorious young womanhood.

A profusion of beautiful floral offerings entirely covered the new made grave mingling their fragrance and giving mute but eloquent expression of the sincere love and esteem in which the decedent was held by hosts of friends.

Perhaps never before have there been so many exquisite floral offerings at any funeral held there as adorned the last resting place of this fair young woman whose remains now sleep beside those of father, sister and other loved ones gone on before.

While her passing is deeply mourned her loved ones have the blessed assurance that she was prepared and willing to go, leaving the memory of a noble Christian example to dwell with so long as life shall last.

The funeral was very largely attended, many friends from different parts of the county gathering to pay their last respect to the dead.
