Everett L. Boyd, 96, of Kingman, passed away at 1:50 a.m. CDT Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at the Veterans Administration Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois.

He was born Dec. 10, 1919 in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of the late Lee and Mabel (Jackson) Boyd. Everett married Odessa E. Jackson on Nov. 7, 1941 in Clinton, Indiana. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2004.

Survivors include his children, Dennis (Renaulta Kay) Boyd and Judy Cook; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis Boyd; son, Imal LeRoy Boyd; two grandchildren, Eric and Mary Boyd; brother, Wayne Boyd and two sisters, Doris Baxter and Maxine Boyd.

Everett was a retired millwright from the former Newport Ammunition Depot. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of corporal.

He was a man of deep Christian faith. A 50-plus year member of Kingman Masonic Lodge 314 F&AM. Everett received the 50-year award of Gold Pin. He also was active in Kingman Order of Eastern Star, Fountain Chapter 204. He enjoyed hunting, restoring old cars (two Model T's), working on mowers and spending time outdoors and enjoying nature. He never knew a stranger and was a dedicated father and husband. Everett especially enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren.
