Francisco Barnieri, 63, of Fortuna died in a Fortuna hospital on October 2 after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 18, 1895, in Italy and had been a resident of Fortuna for the past two years. He came to the U.S. in 1925 and had lived in California for 33 years. He was a cook for Parlato's in Fortuna while living there until his recent illness. He was a member of the Catholic church.
He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters, all living in Italy; and a grandson also living in Italy.
Friends may attend te rosary tonight at 8 o'clock at Emmerson;s Mortuary Chapel in Fortuna. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Fortuna, with the Rev. Thomas V. Burke officiating. Interment will be in the Rohnerville Catholic Cemetery.
