Born Sept. 10, 1944, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Horace Edwards and Mary Stewart Edwards. She was a partner with her husband with Tucker and Associates in Moultrie and Roswell. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie, where she was a member of the choir.
"She had a naturally friendly, outgoing personality," her family remembered. "She was beautiful inside and out, and was very family oriented." She particularly loved visiting Santa Fe, N.M., and Sea Island, Ga., and she enjoyed shopping, gardening and flower arranging, her family said. As an insurance agent, her family said that her favorite account was Boxwood's Gifts and Antiques in Buck Head because of her love of decorating.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy I. Edwards. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Marion Wayne Tucker of Moultrie; two brothers, Harold Edwards and wife Lydia of Leesburg, Ga., and Freddie Edwards and wife Yvonne of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Linda Woolam and Frances Jowers and husband Bill, all of Columbia, S.C.; nieces and nephews, Greg Jowers, Kim Mims, Joey Spigner, Steve Spigner, Melinda Edwards, Glenn Edwards, Alan Edwards, Vann Edwards, Jimmy Edwards and Scott Edwards; a special great-niece, Madison; and several other great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
