Lorraine Lucille (Lutz) Grant, 80, of Lower Alsace Township, died September 30, 2016 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. She was the widow of Jack Grant who died September 23, 2009.

Born April 20, 1936 in Sinking Spring, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Homer and Lucy Ellen (Strickler) Lutz.

Lorraine was employed for over 40 years in the textile industry as a seamstress, working most of her career with Custom Sportswear, Reading, and retiring from Arrow International in 1991.

After retiring, she and her husband moved to Dillon, S.C., and spent the next 25 years there.

She was a past member of Christ Little Tulpehocken Church, Bernville.

Lorraine loved traveling, listening to county western music, but most of all, spending time with her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.

Surviving are her three children: Jackie J. Garvon of Texas; Gregory D. Grant of California and Tami L., wife of Joseph C. Wojcik, of Lower Alsace Township. Other survivors include her son-in-law, Robert Emery of Montville, N.J.; and her brother, Gerald, husband of Kim Lutz, of Hamburg. Also surviving are her three grandchildren: Denise, wife of Charity Pyles; Adam Emery; and Robin Emery-Carr, wife of Lou Carr; and her great-granddaughter, Addison.

Lorraine was predeceased by her daughter, Debi K. Emery, who died July 10, 1998; her five brothers: Irvin, George, Raymond, Kenneth and Carl Lutz; and her six sisters: Ellen Waruszewski, Dorothy Seidel, Florence Wunder, Sarah Dunlap, Shirley Harris and Verna Lutz.

Services will be Friday at 12 p.m. in Christ Little Tulpehocken Church, 40 Church Road, Bernville. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Stitzel Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
