Billie Cook of Griffin, GA, age 79, died on September 27, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Mr. J.C. Stewart, Sr.,and Bonita Sharp Stewart.
She graduated from Rule High School, Knoxville TN and went on to receive her R.N. from Gordon College. She worked at Milby Medical Center for 10 years, and also at the Pike County Health Department for several years. She was an active member of the Church of Joy, which she had an integral role in founding. She displayed an intense love for the Lord, loved long walks with her husband, Don, enjoyed time with her grandchildren, loved reading, and she was an avid slalom water skier up until her 70’s. She had a true servant’s heart which overflowed with love, demonstrated by her instrumental role in nurturing and caring for her grandsons.
Loved and appreciated by all who knew her for her love for God and her family, and especially her grandchildren, she will be greatly missed. Visitation for Billie Jean Cook will be on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin, GA. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00am at The Church of Joy in
Williamson, GA. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens.
