Graveside service for Kenneth Edward Barker was Monday in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. He died Wednesday in a Portland hospital of complications of emphysema and diabetes. He was 71.
Mr. Barker was born in Englewood, Colo., on Dec. 29, 1917, and had lived in Vancouver since 1942. He was a retired superintendent of the sheet-metal department for Willamette Iron & Steel Corp. in Portland. Mr. Barker was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 16 of Portland and was a past president of what was the Bingham-Willamette Credit Union in Portland.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes of Vancouver; son, James E. of Vancouver; daughters, Janet L. Brown and Eva Toepfer, both of Vancouver; sisters, Flora Andersen of Mesa, Ariz., and Eileen Kimmons of Apache Junction, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
