Jeremiah J. "Jerry" Lynch, of 171 Taft Road, St. Marys, died on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.

He was born on July 17, 1938, in St. Marys, a son of the late James and Gertrude Frank Lynch.

On February 17, 1962, in the St. Marys Church, he married Sue C. Laird Lynch, who survives.

Jerry was a lilfelong resident of the area and a member of Sacred Heart Church.

He graduated from SMAHS, class of 1956. He served in the US Navy from 1956-1957 and then earned an Associate's Degree from Penn State DuBois.

He retired from the former MascoTech after many years of service. He was a member of the K of C, Elks, and the PFL. Over the years, Jerry was very active with the Boy Scouts and donated much of his time to helping the local Boy Scouts.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Jerry was also very active at the St. Marys Sportman's Club where he held many offices over the years. He also greatly enjoyed going to camp and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife of more than 54 years, Sue C. Laird Lynch, he is survived by two daughters,
Judy (Andy Lecker) Lynch of Glen Hazel
and Nancy (James) McCloskey of Kane,
by two sons,
Shawn (Diane) Lynch of Murraysville
and David (Alicia) Lynch of Hummelstown
and by seven grandchildren,
He is also survived by four brothers,
Patrick (Marilou) Lynch of York,
Thomas (Maretta) Lynch of New Hampshire,
James (Jane) Lynch of State College
and Dennis (Karen) Lynch of Coudersport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Lynch.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeremiah J. Lynch will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Rev. Eric Vogt, O.S.B., officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
