David J. Sanders, 92, of Moultrie, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Funeral service was held held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021, at Lakeside Assembly of God.

Born January 22, 1929, Mr. Sanders was the son of the late James David Sanders and Blanche Mae Phillips Sanders.

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army at home and abroad for seven years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Sanders was an entrepreneur and partner in numerous family-owned and operated businesses including David J. Sanders and Sons Drain Tile and Sanders and Sons Blueberry Farm.

A life-long Packer Football fan, he was always proud to support the team from the top row alongside his family and special friends. Among his most enjoyed activities were being an avid fisherman, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He had a special way with words and was known for his humor and quick wit. His stories and "life advice" will always hold a special place in the hearts of his family and friends he met along the way.

In addition, Mr. Sanders was a charter member of Lakeside Assembly of God Church where he served as Deacon for over 40 years. He never passed up the chance to share what Jesus had done in his life. He left quite a legacy and lived so well the 92 years he was given.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Jean Roberts Sanders; daughter, Gail Adams; brothers, Hugene Sanders, Odell Sanders, James Sanders; sisters, Betty Joyce Flenigan, and Louise Peters.

Survivors include his children, David Sanders and wife Pam of Hartsfield, Steve Sanders and wife Debbie of Moultrie, Valeeca Moncrief and husband David of Moultrie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.
