Carrie Lee Barnes, age 93, died October 3, 2016 at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
Born August 27, 1923 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Brandon and Annie Bell (Johnson) Moss. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and did clerical work for Thomas Industries before retiring.
On June 27, 1943 she married Louis Barnes, who preceded her in death May 22, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Garnett Moss.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by one son, Jim Barnes of Sikeston; one brother, James Moss of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy & Kyle Grubbs of Sikeston and Jason & Nancy Barnes of Albany, New York; and three great grandchildren, Rachel Grubbs, Evan Grubbs and Ezra Barnes.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Rev. David Ross, pastor of First Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
