He was born April 4, 1928, in Canfield, W.Va., to the late Ward and Edna E. Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church.
He was a devoted husband to Ruth J. Gibson, stepfather of three, brother of Dana L. Gibson and Sue Willis, grandfather of six and great-grandfather of two.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Kidwell Gibson, and a stepson, Rick Kidwell.
The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Greenwich Presbyterian Church, Vint Hill Road, Nokesville. Interment will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Petersville, Md.
