Carolyn Fay Braswell Watkins, 84, of Lumberton, Texas, formerly of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020. She was born July 15, 1935 to Allen and Gertrude White Braswell in Mt. Holly. She was retired from the Union County Tax Collectors office and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas G. “Red” Watkins; and brothers, T.C. and I.N. Braswell. Survivors include her son, Jeff Tipton and wife, Pam of Lumberton, Texas; daughter, Pam Jovanovich of Lumberton, Texas; sister, Kathleen Howell of Marysville; and sister-in-law, Birdie Burton of El Dorado. She is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Young’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Brian Trostle officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
