Harmon Willard “Bud” Duckworth, Sr. 84, of Center, Missouri, passed away at 2:40 AM Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Westview Nursing Home in Center, MO.

Private burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 was at Salem Cemetery in Rural Center, MO.

The Family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Bud’s family will host Memorial Service for Wanda and Bud at 1:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2016 at Adiel Baptist Church in rural New London, MO. Rev. Dustin Gilbert will officiate.

Bud was born July 14, 1932, in Champaign, Illinois to Harmon Marion and Pansy Ruth Miller Duckworth.

He was married to Wanda Graham on June 24, 1957 in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Survivors include 4 children, Harmon Duckworth, Jr., Ernie Duckworth (Diana), Richard Duckworth and Nancy Bridgas (Abel); 1 sister, Martha Hollis and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Lesa Marie and 3 infant sons, William Marion, Henry Wallace and Thomas Aaron Duckworth and 1 brother and 1 sister.

Bud served his country proudly in the United States Army. Professionally Bud worked as an auto mechanic for many years. In 1964 he attended mechanics school at Hannibal High School. After graduation, he was employed as a mechanic at B & R Ford. Later in 1972 Bud became the co-owner of P & B Garage.

In his retirement many will remember Bud driving one of the area’s O.A.T.S. buses. Bud enjoyed driving for O.A.T.S. and did so until the age of 82!

Away from work Bud enjoyed simply being at home. He enjoyed fishing the pond on his property and in the past liked to quail hunt. Simply watching Purple Martins or the hummingbirds or watching his favorite westerns were also activities Bud liked. Most of all Bud loved the time she shared with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bud attended the Salem Baptist Church and was a member of the Adiel Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Adiel Baptist Church for Church Missions in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
