John Tate Cole, 81, of Inks Lake, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 18, 2006 in Austin. He was born on July 24, 1925 to Ernest Allen Cole, Sr. and Nettie Mae Henderson Cole in Okay, Texas. He grew up in Temple, Texas. He served in the Navy during WWII and was ordained a Baptist Deacon in 1953. John was a member of Ben Hur Temple in Austin, Texas, Highland Lakes Shrine, and Masonic Lodge Kinglands #1424. He retired to Inks Lake after owning Johnny Cole Plumbing in Austin, Texas for 22 years. He enjoyed woodworking crafts in retirement.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Nan Newby Cole; parents; sister, Coleta Hamrick, and brother, Henderson Cole. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, wife of 7 years, Margie Ray Holder Cole; daughter, Nancy Cole Clements and husband, Jim of McMahan, Texas; son, Stanley Princeton Cole of Salida, Colorado; grandchildren, Kelley Clements Baird and husband, Cody of McMahan, Texas and their children, Kit, Lacey, Kai, Ryter, Beaux, and Gavin; Marion Clements McNees of Lockhart, Texas and daughter, Hannah; Jonathan Stanley Cole and wife, Kelly of New Braunfels, Texas and son Dillon; and Jennifer Frances Cole of Canyon Lake, Texas; brother, Ernest Allen Cole, Jr. of Houston, Texas; sisters, Sylvera Cole Barton and Mildred Cole Myers both of Temple, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was also blessed with Margie's family, daughter, Barbara Myers and husband, James of Burnet, Texas; sons, Jerry Holder and wife, Kathy of Cedar Park, Texas and Keith Holder of Lakeway, Texas; grandchildren, Wendy Keele and family of Burnet, Texas, Bryan Holder and family of Austin, Texas, Laura Holder of Minnesota; and great-granddaughter, Courtney Myers of Burnet, Texas.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park with James B. Clements, his beloved brother in Christ for over 50 years, officiating.
