Verna Pearl (Collins) Hook of Grand Blanc, Michigan, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hadley, MI. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the ASPCA.

Verna was born in Willow Springs, Missouri on September 24, 1925, daughter of the late Earnest and Ethel (Pringle) Collins. She was a beaded jewelry designer for many years and loved to share her creations with everyone she knew. Verna was a music lover, with a particular fondness for the country music genre. She loved to shop and loved to wear jewelry, but what she wore most and almost always was a smile that lit up the room.

Mrs. Hook is survived by 5 children, Ralph Larry Hook, Sherry Lee (Gary) Boston, Terry Lynn Suttle, Carey Dale (Sandra) Hook and Randy Scott Hook; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Rollin Hook; 2 sons, Craig Ricky Hook and Mark Kirby Hook; brother, Virgil Collins and sister, Mildred Carey.
