Kay had the biggest heart in the world, she was very generous, loving, kind, forgiving, and fun-loving. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and was an amazing mother and grandmother to each one of them. Kay extended Christ’s love to all she met.
Kay was the owner of a beauty shop at Johnny Appleseed Shopping center. She later received her master of education degree at Ashland University and began teaching cosmetology at Madison Comprehensive High School.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, whom she fell in love with at first sight and married six months later in Abington, VA on November 24, 1986, Bobby Sutherland; daughter, Karen (Jeffrey) Sutherland-Schultz; grandchildren, Christian Aaron Schultz, Faith Elizabeth Schultz; step-children, Anita Sutherland, Tina (Jeff) Carroll, and Gerald Sutherland; six step-grandchildren, Krystal, Kaleb, Dekota, Kamden, Mckenzie, and Tressie; one step great-grandchild, Mora; and one brother, Keith Carmel.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Kay Sutherland; and her grandson, Aaron Jacob “Jake” Sutherland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Mark Bailey.
