Jennifer Kay Martinez, 29, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, 28, 2016. Jennifer's family will have a celebration of life at 3pm on Tuesday, October 4 at Indian Creek Winery, 1000 N McDermott Road, Kuna, ID 83634.
Jennifer was born October 4, 1986 at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho and adopted by her parents John and Joanne Anderson. She was raised in Nampa, Idaho. Her birth parents are Paul Kim and Natalie Karoses Schneider. She graduated from Skyview High School in Nampa, ID, class of 2005. She attended nursing school at Boise State University and later graduated from Thomas Edison University with a Psychology Degree. Jennifer married Kyle Miller on November 19, 2004 and they had two children, Madelyn and Jameson. On July 15, 2011, Jennifer married her best friend Thom Martinez. Together they had Ignatius. The Martinez family made their home in Meridian, Idaho.
Jennifer loved spending time with her family, including her three children, nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles. She had a passion for baking cakes, nerding out with her husband, playing piano, and starting new projects and learning new talents. She was very creative, intelligent and artistic. She enjoyed wine and whiskey, and being the wittiest person in the room. She took great pride in being an amazing mother to her children, teaching them new talents like violin, and introducing them to new experiences. She also was an advocate for anyone struggling in this world, particularly kids and their families with developmental disabilities, especially congenital hydrocephalus.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her birth father, Paul Kim; brother, Joshua Graham; grandparents, Wally and Louise Frederiksen; and uncles, Paul Frederiksen and Robert Frederiksen.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Thom Martinez and son Ignatius Martinez age 5 of Meridian, and her children from her previous marriage, Madelyn Miller age 11 and Jameson Miller age 9 of Meridian; her parents, John and Joanne Anderson of Nampa; brothers, Leif Elgethun of Boise, and Luke Anderson of Nampa; birth mother, Natalie Karoses Schneider of Shasta Lake, California; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended birth family members.
