He was born May 2, 1954, in Lepanto. He was the son of the late Verlon Harvell Swanson and Retha Mangrum Harpe.
He was a farmer for many years and a longtime member of the Mangrum Church of Christ.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Wayne Swanson (Christine) of Madison, Tenn.; sister, Carolyn Ann Stainback of Southaven, Miss.; brother, Harold Swanson (Darlene) of Atoka, Tenn.; sister, Janice Swanson Huss (Charles) of Millington, Tenn.; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held in Monette Memorial Cemetery with interment under the direction of Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.
