Sandy S. (Straley) Anderson, age 66, passed away on Friday September 30, 2016 at IU Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton. She was born on March 22, 1950 in Elwood, IN to Bud and Iona (Irion) Straley. On July 17, 1993 she married Mike Anderson in a ceremony in Hamilton County.
Sandy was a 1968 graduate of Hamilton Heights High School in Arcadia, Indiana. She was an avid Barbie Doll collector and enjoyed attending garage sales looking for her next Barbie. Sandy also attended and participated in car shows around Central Indiana with her husband Mike. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, she loved the celebrating the holidays with her family, especially the small children.
Sandy was a housewife and a homemaker. She had offered childcare out of her house for a number of years. Three children that she loved and were very dear to her heart were Landon Morris, Andy Hinkle and Emily Hinkle.
Survivors include her mother, Iona Meeks of Tipton, her husband Mike Anderson of Tipton, her son, Mikey (Randa) Tomlinson of Tipton, a stepson, Danny Anderson of Tipton and a step grandson Chase Clark of Tipton. Surviving siblings include two brothers; Gary (Jerry) Straley of Brown County and Greg (Allison) Straley of Arcadia along with a niece, Christy Straley and two nephews, Scott & Tyler Straley.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday morning October 5 at Porter's. Pastor Joe Brock will be officiating with interment following at Carey Cemetery in rural Hamilton County.
