Composer and conductor, light opera and musical theater. Son of Joseph and Magdalena Lutz. Brother Baron Johann Lutz was prime minister of Bavaria under King Ludwig II. Conductor at the Surrey Theater in Lambeth, 1850-1855. Resident musical director and conductor at the Gaiety Theater in the West End, 1869-1894. Often credited as Meyer Lutz in his theatrical compositions.
