The family will have a private memorial with a military internment with full military honors at the South Florida National Cemetery.
William was born March 19, 1926, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Sebastian and Nancy (Doll) Abrams. He graduated from Paul Blazer High School and then served in the US Army in WWII. He then graduated with a BA from Marshall University. William was a Regional Manager for Swift Premium Company and retired from the company at 55 years old. He then got his real estate license and sold real estate in both West Virginia and then Florida.
He was an avid fan of Marshall University Football and founded the Palm Beach Chapter of the Marshall Alumni. He was a past president of that chapter. He was a member of Tropical Sands Christian Church and was an Elder and board member for many years. He also was a Kentucky Colonel and was a past president of the Palm Beach Kentucky Colonels.
He is survived by his son, Robert Abrams, daughter, Janet Chalif, grandchildren, Phillip Abrams, Jesse Chalif, Alexandra Chalif, and his niece, Judy McCoy. William was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Mary Elizabeth Abrams, in 2011.
