Roland was the son of John E. and Emma (Short) Marvel. Roland was a machinist and for 12 years a locomotive inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Roland was survived by his wife Estelle F. Marvel, a brother, Ray of Glenside, Pa., a niece, a nephew, and his parents. Funeral services were officiated by the Rev. Dr. Preston W. Spence, pastor of Peninsula Methodist Church, of which Mr. Marvel was a member. Roland was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran of four years service, and was a member of Corinthian Lodge No. 20, A. F. and A. M., and the Delaware Consistory.
