Leslie Carter, 87, passed away peace fully on Sept. 25, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, Dr. Wayne (Nancy), Dale (Sherry), Larry (Lori) Carter; and daughter, Sandra Oliva. Les also leaves behind grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Shawn, Chelsey and Leah Carter and Brandon Oliva; as well as his former wife, Mildred Carter. Les was a U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He was an avid golfer and bowler until his health declined. He was a friend and good companion to many stray animals over the years, and they were happy to find someone who would take care of them. Les and his family would like to thank the staffs of Parkview Medical Center and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their care and understanding. Per his request, no services are planned, and cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be planned in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pueblo animal shelter.
