The Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 will conduct an Elks Service, for their deceased brother, Bruce, at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday evening (September 29). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday (September 30) at Trinity Episcopal Church, 27 Fall Street, Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls.

Bruce was born in Auburn, N.Y., on October 31, 1931. He was a lifelong resident of Seneca Falls, where he worked as a pattern maker, at Gould's Pumps, before retiring in 1994. He served in the New York State National Guard, for more than 20 years. He was a devoted parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was an acolyte and former Vestry member. Bruce also belonged to the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992. He was a previous treasurer for the all-sports and wrestling booster clubs at Mynderse Academy and was inducted into the Mynderse Academy Sports Hall of Fame, in 2012.
He is survived by daughter, Sonna (Donald) LaPenna, of Syracuse; son, Bruce (Julie) Knapp Jr., of Victor, N.Y.; grandchildren, Joseph LaPenna, Alyssa, Jenna and Sarah Knapp; his twin sister, Barbara Eggleston, of Seneca Falls; several nieces and nephews; his very dear friend, Lucy Liberatore, of Seneca Falls.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents Harry and Elizabeth Rogers Knapp; as well as his wife of 58 years, Mary Hartman Knapp.
