Mrs. Myers was born in York on November 20, 1930 and was the daughter of the late William and Alverta (Smith) Fitz.
Charlotte had worked for Meadowbrook Turkey Farm and Knaub’s Bakery. She was a volunteer at York Hospital and was a lifetime member of New Fairview Church of the Brethren. She loved her family time, especially the frequent girls’ weekends with her daughters. She enjoyed doing puzzles, crocheting and travelling. She and her husband had visited all 50 states.
She is survived by her four daughters; Judy Frey (Stephen), Peggy Ferree (Randy), Vickie Lauer (Steven) and Missy Cooley (Skip). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Eric, Valerie, Brent, Leslie, Michelle, Nathan, Allison and Stephanie; seven great grandchildren, Shaianne, Darian, Evelyn, Mariah, Joey, Noah, and Caroline; as well as several step grandchildren and her sister, Dorothy Gregg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Peters; seven brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service to honor Charlotte’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 3 at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd. A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Monday, and will begin at 9:00 AM until the start of the service. Interment will follow in New Fairview Cemetery.
