Grandma Smith died at an early hour Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Holston in Goff, following an illness of many weeks. Mrs. Smith was beloved by all who knew her, for her cheerful jovial disposition even in her advanced years.
Lydia Gray Aplin was born in Ohio in April 1842, and would have been 84 years of age next month. Five children were born to them: Mrs. Winifred Weimer, who died a number of years ago; Albert A., Ft. Thomas, Ariz.; Fred E. of Topeka; Dr. Dwight C., who died in Goff in 1920, and Mrs. Gertrude Holston of Goff.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Wetmore Methodist church and interment was beside the husband in the Wetmore cemetery. Goff Advance.
