We are only assuming that the first Mary is buried here as it is family legend that Ben and Mary S Jenkins Smith are here. A family member said Benjamin Franklin Smith was buried at Golden Grove out beyond the old outhouse. Perhaps that was the original burial site of both Marys.

Little is known about Mary AE Smith other than information found in the Census. We do not known her maiden name but we do know she married Benjamin Franklin Smith. Her Census data shows she was born in Alabama.
The name Mary AE disappears and in it's place is found the Name Mary S who is now known to be Mary Seleta Jenkins.
