KERR, Betty Jo -- Betty Jo KERR, 82, of Keosauqua, died at 7:45 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

KERR, Betty Jo -- Betty Jo KERR, 82, of Keosauqua died at 7:45 A.M. Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua.

She was born July 16, 1924, in Dyer County, Tennessee to Levi and Constance TUBBS HOLLINGSWORTH. She married Kenneth V. KERR April 2, 1944, near Dyersburg, TN while he was in the Army Air Corps. He preceded her in death Feb. 21, 2001.

She and her husband farmed in Van Buren County and in Tennessee and with their family were named Van Buren County Farm Family of the Year in 1949. The KERRs were co-administrators of Van Buren County Care Facility for 22 years.

Betty Jo was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church, was a talented artist and a co-founder of Keosauqua Arts Festival and had been a member of Beer-Barker Unit 494, American Legion Auxiliary, Keosauqua, Friends of Lacey, Friends of Keosauqua Library and various neighborhood clubs.

Surviving are four daughters, Connie CAY and husband, Willis of Fairfield, Kathy MANNING and husband, George of Keosauqua, Korkee CARRUTHERS and husband, Fred of Mediapolis and Kim KELLER and husband, Paul of rural Stockport, a son James KERR and wife, Sue of Woodland Park, CO, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Ona "Tink" LOWERY and husband, Curtis of Tupelo, MS and special friend, Francis McINTOSH of Corona, CA. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister at birth and a grandson, William Kenneth CAY.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 30, 2007, in Keosauqua United Methodist Church, Rev. Bryon Wixom and Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Pittsburg Cemetery west of Keosauqua. Visitation will open at 2 P.M. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with family present 7-8 P.M. Memorials to Keosauqua Public Library or Van Buren Good Samaritan Center Therapy Department may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 554, Keosauqua, IA 52565.
