On Saturday, June 4, 2016, Pee Dee Rifles Sons of Confederate Veterans members John Baldwin, Jimmy Gamble, Chris Harrell, Bob Jones, & David Rowland were involved in the installation of a grave marker for Dr. Julian Alexander McLeod, Signer of Ordinance of Secession from Marlboro County, SC. The marker was installed in the Rogers-McLeod family cemetery at Groveton Plantation on Red Hill Road a few miles south of Bennettsville. The cemetery is off the road & required some work to get all the amterials to the site.
The August 18, 2016 edition of Bennettsville local newspaper THE MARLBORO HERALD-ADVOCATE, ran a short article about the event. Thanks to all SCV members who put in some hard work on this project.
