"Our Rae of Sunshine" Raeola Burbidge passed away on September 18, 2016.

Rae was born July 4, 1923 to Charles W. Parker and Lucinda Brown Parker. She was the youngest of four children and the last to leave.

On August 16, 1941, she married Paul R. (Dick) Burbidge. They had two children: Lynda K. and Jeffrey P.

Dick was a veteran of World War II. The day he went in for his induction physical was the last time Rae saw him for over three years. This absence cemented a strong love and loyalty to each other that lasted sixty-seven years until his death. Rae worked several jobs to get by at the Salt Lake Laundry and the Arms Plant making bullets for the war effort.

It was during this time she met and made many of her lifelong friends. After the war, Rae and Dick lived and raised their children in the Millcreek and Holladay areas. They were both involved in the Murray Rotary Club and the Murray Chamber of Commerce. They were members of the LDS Church.

Rae's life focus was her family and friends. She was always positive and believed that a smile, a kind word, and laughter would solve many things. Rae loved to clean and was a world class housekeeper. She taught us the importance of taking care of our families and loved unconditionally, Rae cherished the time spent with family and friends. Everyone that met and got to know Rae quickly fell in love with her.

Preceded in death by Lynda K. (daughter), Paul R. Burbidge (husband), and other beloved family. Rae is survived by son, Jeffrey P. Burbidge (Delores), and family; Jenny Bradley (Rich) and family, Jesse Coombs (Kim) and family, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews.

At Rae's request, there will be a graveside service held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1450 East), where a viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.
