Amelia (Chutas) Rogers, age 88, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016.
She was born in Colebrook, Ohio, on Nov. 22, 1927, the daughter of the late John A. Chutas and Anna (Lutkevicius) Chutas.
She married Max N. Rogers on Nov. 29, 1947, and celebrated 58 years of marriage before Max died in June 2006. Amelia was a resident of Ashtabula County for all but the final years of her life.
In the past, Amelia was employed at the Orwell Newsletter, the Ashtabula Star Beacon, and the Jefferson Gazette.
She enjoyed gardening, music, reading and watching birds.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kasnie; and a brother, Charles Chutas.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol L. Stark (Art) of Fairview, Pa., and Nora A. Jones (Greg) of Victor, N.Y.; one sister, Julia Bragga of Jefferson, Ohio; two grandchildren, Aaron M. Stark (Christina) of Merrimack, N.H., and Neal A. Stark (Amy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren: Max, Molly, Micah, Emma, Katie and Libby; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the BURTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St. East, Girard, Pa. 16417, on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of Service at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Bousquet officiating.
Interment next to her husband will follow at Gageville Cemetery, 3303 Plymouth Gageville Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
