Karen C. Head, 69, of Tipton County passed away at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at her residence, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by relatives and close friends who loved her. Karen was born on February 22, 1947, in Indianapolis to Robert N. & Betty (Beck) Head. Karen resided in rural Tipton County with her husband, John Burnett.

Karen attended St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Tipton and graduated from Tipton High School. She then attended Apex Beauty School and started her hairdressing career that would span over 50 years. For several years she was the proprietor of Carriage Trade Salon, located in her beautiful Victorian home in Tipton. She also worked in Indianapolis and Phoenix, Arizona before returning to Noblesville, where she was a stylist and a cosmetologist at Hair Design by William and Company for the past 30 years. The ultimate “foodie”, Karen served the local community through her catering business, and will be remembered for the veritable feasts she prepared in elegant presentation for clients, friends, and family as well. Karen loved her work, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a kind and gracious soul by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her husband, John; two sisters, Terry Pasley, Becky Small and husband Jeff; two nieces and three nephews, Tiffany Head, Emily Head, Adam Kappesser, Shane Small, Dustin Small; and her beloved cats, Gabriella and Isabel. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert N. Head Jr. and Jeffrey L. Head.

Karen’s funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Goth presiding. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Prior to her passing, Karen expressed her gratitude for all the love and kindness she received from family, friends, co-workers, and her clients throughout her life and career.
